War and genocide are grouped here because they essentially have the same source. Both arise from divisional hatred, finding expression in violence organized by political leadership. That same leadership very often exploits and encourages that hatred in the first place.

Americans Against Bombing | new window

This rather comprehensive site includes news and opinion on various trouble spots, and how warmongers across the political spectrum in America have been making things worse and more dangerous. Obviously, a site most interested in America, and a site which is pro-America, but with a vision of an American nation which is "not Rome."

Antiwar.com | new window

Unique, definitive, up-to-date resource of alternative information and opinion on current conflicts, looming conflicts, and the anti-war movement, run by libertarians, with contributors of many kinds. Often features excellent columns.

Excellent resources on the killing of Armenians during WWI, still denied by many people in Turkey.

Cambodian Genocide Program | new window

The Cambodian Genocide Program at Yale University, part of the Genocide Studies Program, contains a great deal of unearthed and archived information, with documents, photographs, both victim and Khmer Rouge biographies, and other varied content concerning the issue — probably more than you will ever want to see.

HRW: Stop The Use Of Child Soldiers! | new window

This is the home page for Human Rights Watch's campaign against the use of child soldiers. Particularly when the cause is desperate and needs recruits, children are taken as soldiers or modern 'comfort women' in many conflicts around the world; children are easily manipulated into joining, and very often they can be conscripted forcefully. They also tend to be inexperienced and weak, so they are far more likely to be casualties than adults. Even if they survive they will be emotionally scarred. Get some information here on this little-known, even-darker side of war.

PPU: War and Related Facts | new window

The Peace Pledge Union publishes profiles of modern conflicts by country, and other interactive war maps and information.
