Miscellaneous links on oppressive domination: the exercise of power
diminishing the value of our lives.
Slavery was wiped away almost entirely, back in the age when it was
legal and commonplace, because people became convinced that an official
definition of property that included other people (and of course enforcement
of that legal definition) was something they could no longer accept.
Now that it is illegal, it continues in some places due to its tacit
acceptance by those in power, and others who know it goes on.
Excellent site tracking the reality of Orwell's Big Brother in government
today. Has a somewhat different use for the eye metaphor.
This well-designed and entertaining site promotes consumer choice
instead of mandatory, 'we know what's good for you' control. They provide
news items, issue pages, relevant articles, and less serious content
too. Stop by and find out why you should reject
the politics of guilt-driven moralism and junk science.
Falun Dafa or Falun Gong is a recent form of "cultivation practice" (other
examples include Tai Chi) very popular in China and elsewhere in the
world. Although peaceful and apolitical, it is considered a threat
to the state by paranoid Chinese authorities, who smear it as a cult.
This site is maintained by volunteers among practitioners of Falun
Gong in order to publicize information on the crackdown against the
practice.

into the political situation in Burma/Myanmar and actions against it.

strategies.

News and content provided to encourage an understanding of freedom

Major site for information on various kinds of oppression by the government
in China. Supplies current information on the situation for Chinese
people living under that post-communist fascist regime. Unfortunately,
HRIC is also an example of the danger of the term "human rights";
rights are defined in this case to include a social agenda beyond the
prevention of physical harm and behavioral controls.
A worthy endeavor. This site attempts to parallel efforts to document
and understand the history of Nazism, so that we may also never forget
the totalitarian cruelties of communism in world history. Includes
fascinating and important exhibits, unfortunately incomplete. Especially
interesting is the theory that Soviet communism was significantly connected
to Czarist ideology.
This website has a large amount of damning information on Castro and
life under his regime in Cuba. Includes a copy of actual food rationing
paperwork for a family under communism, video clips of Castro caught
in lies, past atrocities, and current news.
A whole world of oppression as captured and interpreted by two impassioned
Muslim editors.
This site with a determined American patriot stance collects articles
and viewpoint concerning selected incidents of oppression. Features
include the Waco and Golden Hill Paugeesukq Indian standoffs, the Serbia
bombings, and various governmental scandals and unwarranted arrests.
Amnesty International's web site for its Saudi Arabia campaign: "end
secrecy, end suffering." Included is a large amount of background
on various kinds of oppression in that tightly-controlled and violently-ruled
country.

information on the offenses of the Syrian government against freedom.
Includes a list of political detainees in Syria.

is a nonprofit group which raises awareness of conditions in Afghanistan
(especially for women and children). The site includes
background information, links to resources, and topical poems, art,
and photographs.
